According to Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel, the Indian aviation industry is expected to grow at 25 percent per annum.

We are close to 50 percent growth in the domestic sector and about 20 percent in international sector. Today India operates on an average of 1100 flights per day with air traffic passengers being 65 million per year. As major airlines have placed orders for more aircrafts, simultaneously the need for trained professionals, both in air and at ground is tremendously increasing.

Over 135 aircraft have been added in the last two years alone. By 2010, India's fleet strength will stand at 550. Airlines are bulking up on capacity – ten Indian carriers placed orders for 400 aircraft worth US$ 15 billion.

The recent Airlines Industry boom has seen a major demand for Trained Pilots, Cabin Crew (Air Hostess / Flight Purser) and Ground Staff to work at airports. According to some estimates, the demand is going to increase 10 times. Hence this is the best time to pursue a Career as a Commercial Pilot / Air Hostess / Flight Purser or a Ground Staff.
